Nakaseke, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Police in Nakaseke District have arrested a 17-year-old boy for illegal possession of a firearm.
The suspect is Akhram Yusuf, a resident of Lubaga Division in Kampala. He was arrested on Friday after residents of Mabanga village in Namayumba sub county saw him carrying a suspicious object in the bag.
Sam Twiineamazima, the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson, said that officers from Semuto Police Station responded quickly and arrested the boy.
He said that the firearm PSO- 4000390-11007 had three rounds of ammunition.
According to the police, the suspect stated that he obtained the gun from a friend only identified as Joel, on Tuesday, at Mukwano Arcade in Kampala.
Twiineamazima said that the suspect will be transferred to Kampala for further examination.
