The dormancy of Crime Intelligence Unit has been cited as the reason criminal gangs could stay in slums and upscale areas without fear and execute heinous crimes like kidnaps, murders, robberies and fraud.  The unit is commanded by Assistant Commissioner of Police – ACP Thomas Kasiimo.
