Airtel conducts health camp in Arua

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | In an effort to boost the socio-economic development in North West Uganda, Airtel on March 02 held a health camp at St. Kizito Primary School in Ombaci in Arua District.

The exercise involved provision of free healthcare services including  dental care, eye checkups, blood donation, safe male circumcision, cancer and Hepatitis B screening, teaching youth how to make recyclable pads, sexual and reproductive health services   to the residents, in partnership with other stakeholders including Ministry of Health.

Flavia Lwanga, the director human resource at Airtel said the health camp was part of their plan to improve the lives of the communities in which they operate.

“We at Airtel, not only want to provide the best telecommunications services in the country, but to also be a big part of enhancing and bettering the lives of those in communities in which we operate,” she said, adding, “We are proud to have bettered over 5,000 lives.
