Any three things that we don’t know about you?
I am a hard to bend person; it takes someone too much time to get me on their side and once I get there it is hard to change me. It’s because I take so much time analyzing someone or an issue. That makes me an honest person. I hate it when someone despises me which is why I don’t despise others. I am passionate about sports; it’s my first in life.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
I am very happy when I see things moving the right way. In sports, I am happy when I see a team that I support win; for instance Juventus and Katwe United.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
My facial expression puts away many people from getting to me yet they would be useful to me and vice versa. I would like to look a simple person but at times I look to be an arrogant and proud man which I am not.
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
I don’t like people who are easily compromised by anything or anyone. I like strong and consistent characters around me.
Which living person do you most admire?
Silvio Berlusconi; he was a journalist who joined politics and used it to change football in Italy when he owned AC Milan and made it one of the best clubs in the world. He is also rich not through stealing but earning from his sweat. I would love to follow his path because it is my greatest aspiration.
What is your greatest extravagance?
I can be extravagant in sports; I can sponsor a team or individual who wants to grow a talent in sports.
What is the greatest thing you have ever done?
Becoming Vice chairman of KCCA FC and won two trophies at the national level. I was still very young but managed to lead a team at such a top level which was a dream come true. It has gone down to history that I am an MP for Makindye West; an opportunity that not so many shall have.
What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Attention to social life; the media and other platforms all concentrate on the social life. It has taken too much of our time and space yet we cannot achieve a lot from it.
What does being powerful mean to you?
Being powerful is being able to influence decisions. It gets better when someone has such influence not because of the money but a diligent character.
On what occasion do you lie?
If someone intends to kill me and only lies can save me.
What do you most dislike about your appearance?
Nothing although I don’t want to grow fat.
Which living person do you most despise?
I don’t despise so I don’t expect to be despised.
What is the quality you most like in a woman?
Loyalty and honesty.
What is the quality you most like in a man?
Consistency.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My parents, children, and Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago.
When and where were you happiest?
When I graduated in 2008; it created a very good sense in me. I was also happy being elected a councilor in 2011 and being sworn in as MP for Makindye West at this early stage in life. It gives me the courage to do more things.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I would love to become an investor not through stealing but in a straight and decent way.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
None
Where would you most like to live?
I don’t plan to leave my country even if the current circumstances push many to leave.
What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
With politics, the day you live is what you count. There is no lower moment than living a life where tomorrow is uncertain.
What is your favorite occupation?
Being a journalist.
What do you most value in your friends?
Loyalty and being able to accept me the way I am.
Who are your favorite writers?
Nelson Mandela and Chinua Achebe; their writings have been a great source of inspiration.
Who is your hero of fiction?
I m not a fan of fiction.
Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Nelson Mandela would be a great option for me. He fought for power and eventually after getting it, served for a short time and left others to take the mantle.
What is your greatest regret?
I once regretted failing to become a lawyer but not anymore. I am now grateful to God for guiding my paths.
How would you like to die?
Through sickness because it allows you time to reconcile and speak to those round me.
What is your motto?
I win you win.
