Kampala,Uganda | GODFREY SSALI | State Minister for Sports Charles Bakabulindi has appeared before the Land Probe Commission to explain his involvement in the sale of Kololo SSS play field along Lugogo by pass in Kampala, to City Tycoon Sudhir Ruparellia.
Recently Board Members of Kololo SSS appeared before the land probe chaired by Justice Catherine Bamugemereirwe and accused Sudhir of illegally acquiring their land.
When Sudhir was summoned to the commission, he said he had obtained a letter of no objection from the Minister of State for Sports Charles Bakkabulindi.
Today in his response to Sudhir’s claim, the Minister told the commissioners that he thought that Uganda Land Commission would first verify Sudhir’s acquisition of the Kololo SSS land, before it could be allocated to him.
It was against this background that the Land Probe Commissioners blamed Bakabulindi for being incompetent, by not consulting the then Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education and Sports before consenting to Sudhir’s acquisition of School Land.
