Bushenyi, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Bushenyi district local government officials have allocated two acres of land to the judiciary, to pave the way for the construction of the High Court. The land is located in Nyakabirizi Division.

Last year, the District Council passed a resolution offering the Judiciary land after the district was allocated a High Circuit to serve the Districts of Rubirizi, Sheema, Buhweju, Mitooma, and Bushenyi.

While handing over the land title to the Judiciary, Jafari Basajjabala the Bushenyi LCV Chairperson said that since the launching of the High Court circuit in March, there has been a reduction in the case backlog.

He said that it will be the responsibility of the judiciary to change the land title.

Amos Kwizera, the Resident Judge of the Bushenyi High Court said the construction of the High Court Building will start in the next financial year when funds are secured.

Bushenyi Chief Magistrate Simon Toloko commended the district authorities for ensuring justice is served and accessible to the people by offering the land.

He added that the donation aims to make it easier for the people of greater Bushenyi to access judicial services.
