Centenary Bank strengthens collaboration with INTERPOL

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Centenary Bank has earlier today committed to positively impacting communities through its Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) agenda.

Through its collaboration with INTERPOL that bank recently announced the donation of a state-of-the-art 100-seater tent. This philanthropic gesture aims to enhance INTERPOL’s operational capabilities and further solidify the bank’s commitment to supporting law enforcement agencies in their executions.

While making the donation, Joseph Balikuddembe the Executive Director Centenary Bank noted the various avenues with which the leading commercial microfinance institution in Uganda has in the past 20 years collaborated with security agencies like Uganda Police.

“Our relationship with Uganda Police spans over 20 years, with a range of different activities, including collection of fees for different services, financial literacy, annual support to Police Football club, account opening for new cadets, water facilities & tents to Kabalye Training school in Masindi, safety awareness sessions, to mention but a few. All this goes to show our commitment and intentionality of growing and serving the people together.”

“The donation reflects Centenary Bank’s dedication to fostering partnerships with organizations that play pivotal roles in ensuring public safety and security. This contribution underscores the bank’s belief in the importance of collaborative efforts to address challenges faced by communities and nations.”

Balikuddembe further expressed the bank’s motivation behind the donation.

“Today, we are here to donate this100-seater tent to Interpol that shall ease shelter for the different individuals who come here to access your services. We have been here before when we donated a modern printer to facilitate printing of certificates of good conduct. This philanthropic gesture aims to enhance Interpol’s operational capabilities and further solidify the bank’s relationship and continued support to law enforcement agencies in their execution,” he noted.

He added that with 2% of their annual profits, Centenary Bank has for the past 40 years impacted communities with a strong resolve to continue its mission of transforming lives of Ugandans with inclusive and innovative financial solutions.
