Any three things we don’t know about you?
I am a very emotional woman and yet people take me to be strong. I trust a lot and if betrayed, I don’t get mad but it breaks me down after realising that I am missing them. I have a bad habit of singing at everything and every time; my son sometimes asks me to be silent for a while but I have failed.I am a church girl even when I am always in the limelight.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Accomplishing a task and helping someone out there.
What is your greatest fear?
I fear a heart break because even thinking about it, makes me develop goose bumps.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I have a bad anger; you just pray that you don’t cross my red line because you will be tortured for the rest of your life.
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
You can do anything else but don’t lie to me.
Which living person do you most admire?
I admire many people for different reasons. For music, I love the woman in Mariam Ndagire and I am glad I have told this to her. I love the man called Steven Rwangyezi because he has a huge heart; I wish I can do something that he can witness while he still lives. I also admire Frank Walusimbi for being a good news anchor.
What is your greatest extravagance?
My children are number one but if I walk into a shop and it has shoes of my taste, I can even call someone to send me some money just to have them.
What is the greatest thing you have ever done?
The day I walked into UBC offices and joined the media during my senior six long holiday was a great move. It’s the reason I am what I am and it has paved way, connected and made me the Emily that I am today.
What is your current state of mind?
I am happy and I guess you can tell.
What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
The lifestyle of celebrities; many people think that celebrities have made it in life but I have interacted with many of them and all I can say is that some of them are very disorganised people.
What does being powerful mean to you?
Being able to believe in yourself and chase your dreams however small you may be.
On what occasion do you lie?
I have told lies several times especially when I need help for my children.
What do you most dislike about your appearance?
I like God’s choice for everything on me.
Which living person do you most despise?
People who pull stunts to make a name.
What is the quality you most like in a man?
I don’t know of any good man.
What is the quality you most like in a woman?
Prayerful and God fearing.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
I love my children, Pastor Ronnie Mutebi and my siblings (David and Sandra).
When and where were you happiest?
I’ve had many happy moments but the moment my voice got into the media receiving calls from fans was a happy moment. As a mother, having children was another happy moment.
I also like it every time when someone appreciates what I do on TV especially in news anchoring.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I just want to grow my music talent.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I just want to keep the way I am.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I have achieved a lot but when it comes to my career, it’s an accomplishment rising through the ranks to where I am.
Where would you most like to live?
I have got so many offers to live outside but I love Uganda so much and wouldn’t want to live elsewhere.
What is your most treasured possession?
That has got to be my Bible but I also love my phones and car.
What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
Heartbreak; others like being an orphan are part of life and they don’t shatter too much but heartbreaks suck all the energy and hope out of you.
What is your favorite occupation?
I wouldn’t do anything outside media.
What do you most value in your friends?
I made a decision in 2006 to make friends with only jolly and hopeful people.
Who are your favorite writers?
Emily Jane Brontë’s writings are easy to read and understand. With them, I was taught to read and write better
Who is your hero of fiction?
I am a person of animations and any character works for me.
Which historical figure do you most identify with?
I didn’t grow up in one place where I would be exposed to the world historical personalities but I admired Baale Francis with his news anchoring style. He would work to keep the audience throughout the newscast .
Who are your heroes in real life?
Steven Rwangyezi but I am also my own hero.
What is your greatest regret?
I regret having not believed in myself earlier otherwise life’s journey is more of experiences and lessons .
How would you like to die?
I wish I could first have a concert, speak with my children and rest in my sleep but in old age.
