Ivy Maingi is new Glovo Uganda General Manager

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Glovo Uganda, a leading on-demand delivery platform, has appointed Ivy Maingi as its new General Manager. Maingi brings a wealth of experience in marketing, management, and the technology sector to the role.

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies, Maingi has a strong foundation in understanding and engaging with audiences. Her career has spanned roles in account management, institutional retail, brand management, and key account management, giving her a deep understanding of customer needs and the challenges and opportunities of operating in the technology industry.

Before becoming General Manager of Glovo Uganda, Maingi served as Head of Commercial for Kenya (August 2023 to July 2024). In this role, she demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a keen ability to drive growth and innovation. Her strategic thinking and dedication to customer satisfaction were instrumental in Glovo’s success in the Kenyan market.

As General Manager of Glovo Uganda, Maingi will be responsible for overseeing the company’s operations and driving its growth. She will focus on expanding the platform’s reach, enhancing the user experience, and fostering strong partnerships with local businesses. Her expertise in marketing and technology will be invaluable in positioning Glovo Uganda as a leading player in the on-demand delivery market.

The company recently expanded its operations to Mukono, a popular urban city in Uganda, increasing access to its multi-category platform for more Ugandans. This expansion is a key step towards Glovo’s goal of becoming the largest online marketplace in the region.
