Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Transparency, accountability, flexibility, and effective communication are critical management ethics that accelerate the growth of companies in line with their running strategic plans. This is the summary of what transpired at the second Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda C-Suite Forum held in Kampala on May 29.

Speaking at the Forum, Proscovia Nabbanja, CEO of the Uganda National Oil Company Limited, and CPA Joshua Karamagi, Managing Director of the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited said those ethics are complemented by the quality of the board of governors that does the oversight role in ensuring companies grow, expand, make profits and sustain operations for the long term.

“All organisations need a culture and code of conduct—dos and don’ts,” Nabbanja said. “Whistleblowing is one thing that has to be allowed to help identify gaps in the organization to improve performance,” she added.
