INGRID: High Court summons MP Nsereko over dafamation

The High Court in Kampala has summoned Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko to respond to claims  by Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) official Ingrid Turinawe that he is responsible for her damaged reputation, that cost her in a bid to represent Uganda in the East African Legislative Assembly.

Deputy Registrar Alex Ajiji issued the summons giving Nsereko 15 days to file his defence before Justice Patricia Basaza Wasswa who has been allocated the case  for hearing.

Through Adam Kyomuhendo Advocates and Legal Consultants, Turinawe wants court to order Nsereko pay sh400million  as damages for defamation, over  reckless, malicious and false statements he allegedly uttered against her, as he was being hosted on NBS Television’s Morning Breeze talk show on September 19, 2016.

Turinawe says the topic of discussion was in respect to piglets that were dropped at parliament allegedly by The Jobless Brotherhood, and it is during the said talk show that Nsereko accused her of being behind the campaign. Turinawe sued MP Nsereko  jointly with NBS Television.
