Internal Affairs Minister Onek flown to India for treatment

The Minister for Internal Affairs Hillary Obaloker Onek has been flown on Tuesday to India for medical after his health condition deteriorating from Nakasero Hospital where he was first hospitalized.

The minister is said to have suffered a mild stroke probably caused by a previously undiagnosed heart condition and is reportedly getting treatment.


This happens at the time when the Third Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs, Mr Eriya Kategaya is also undergoing treatment in Nairobi Hospital in Kenya and its said he is improving according to the press release from Mary Karooro Okurut, the Minister for Information and National Guidance yesterday.

The 65-year old Onek an MP representing Lamwo County in Kitgum district in Northern Uganda is said to have fallen sick more than a week ago and has reportedly been receiving treatment at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.
