On Mar.10, Buganda Road Grade One Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu will deliver judgment for the case involving WBS TV journalist Andrew Lwanga and former Old Kampala District Police Commander Joram Mwesigye.
Mwesigye is charged with assault arising from a January 2015 incident where he allegedly clobbered and badly injured the journalist as he covered a protest by a youth group – the Unemployed youth.
The magistrate during a Jan.23 court session instructed prosecution to forward its submissions not later than Feb.06 and for the defense to forward their counter submissions not later than Feb.20. This was after defense counsel Obed Mwebesa informed court that he had no more witnesses to put to the stand after their fourth witness failed to show up.
