Raymond Kananura and two other suspects were arrested recently to help Police investigate the death of Badru Kateregga, a bar attendant at the Panamera bar in Naguru.
Badru Kateregga, was allegedly beaten to death over Shs30,000 by the owner of Panamera bar, Desh Kananura, who is still on the run. It’s alleged that Mr. Kananura got on to a flight to the United Kingdom after the incident and has not been spoken to ever since.
According to the Police Spokesperson Judith Nabakooba, the suspects in connection to murder are Samuel Muzorewa (a guard at the bar), Raymond Kananura, a brother to Desh and Cyrus Magada.
“Their file is ready and will be presented to the Directorate of Public Prosecution today” she said.
Nabakooba said that they are investigating Desh Kananura who is still at large. She said that according to the information they received, he is still out of the country and that there were two other suspects yet to be arrested in connection to the murder.
Meanwhile Police has released the Mengo fire report and according to the findings, the government Analytical Laboratory received samples from the scenes of crime officers and interviewed the eye witnesses and the survivors.
According to Nabakooba, the report does not show that it was a bomb as alleged but the fire was caused by petrol which was near the flammable objects.
“The fire was caused by organic substances which were highly flammable. It is suspected that a mad woman who was locked inside the building could have caused the fire.”
