Karenga, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The joint security forces have launched a manhunt for a group of unknown armed people who shot and killed a senior civil servant in Karenga district.
Simon Peter Omony, the assistant Chief Administrative Officer was gunned down at 9pm on Friday at his residential home in Karenga town council.
Filbert Ocailap, the Karenga Resident District Commissioner describes the incident as heart-breaking, adding that the motive of the killers is not yet known.
Felix Locale, the district chairperson described the deceased as a hardworking and disciplined servant dedicated to serving the people of Karenga.
Micheal Longole, the Karamoja regional police spokesperson appealed to the general public to cooperate by giving information to security so that the culprits are brought to book.
