Kasese, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The High Court in Kasese has sentenced a man to 20 years in prison for murder.
Jackson Muhindo Kasulenge was convicted on his plea of guilty over the murder of two people in Kamughobe one village in Kisinga Sub County in Kasese district.
On Wednesday, the High Court presided over by Justice David Makumbi heard that on 5th January 2023, Kasulenge killed his wife Mary Biira Shamim by strangulation.
The court also heard that on 30th July 2023, Kasulenge killed his brother, Joles Kabutusi Kasulenge by hitting his head with a blunt object and burying the body in a banana plantation.
In November last year, the two bodies were exhumed and preliminary findings then indicated that they had been killed under unclear circumstances by Kasulenge.
He was subsequently arrested and taken to Mubuku government prison.
