LCII chairperson hacked to death

Masindi, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Unknown people have hacked to death Livingstone Kasangaki 58, the LCII Chairperson of Kyakamese Parish in Pakanyi Sub County, Masindi district.

The assailants waylaid Kasangaki as he was returning home from a trading Center at 2:30 a.m. They hacked him several times on the head and face, killing him instantly.

Christine Balikagamba, the deceased’s wife says that she waited for her husband to return home in vain. However, she woke up after hearing her husband sounding an alarm.

Balikagamba adds that when she responded to the alarm, one of the attackers hit her with a stick and fled.

Jackson Byakagaba, the deceased’s son, wonders why his father was hacked yet he did not have a grudge with anyone.

Edinah Nyinareza, the Masinid District Police Commander says that the police have launched investigations into the incident.
