Kabale, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The Police in Rubanda District is hunting for a 45-year-old man who set his house on fire, burning his wife and children to death. The suspect has been identified as Armstrong Vian 45, a businessman.
The incident happened on Saturday in Habutobere village in Muko Sub County, Rubanda district.
It’s alleged that Vian had an argument with Muheki Lovinah and quarrelled. However, he moved outside shortly and returned with a jerrycan of petrol, locked the house and set it ablaze. After torching the house, the suspect fled.
The deceased children have been identified as Edwin 17, West life 15 and Akira 5.
Maate says that the police is investigating Vian’s motive. He however says that there are reports that the deceased wife has been living unhappily after she received information that Vian had married a second wife. According to Maate, when Lovinah confronted Vian, he became angry.
