Lira, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Lira City Town Clerk Theophilus Tibihika succumbed to respiratory failure as a result of lung edema and congestion.
Tibihika died on Monday morning when the Toyota Hilux double cabin pickup number UAM 450V he was driving veered off the road and overturned multiple times along Lira- Apac road.
Lira Regional Referral Hospital Director Dr. Nathan Onyaci, who had a personal relationship with the late read the medical report which stated that the deceased had no physical or internal injuries to his organs.
A preliminary postmortem report only showed that there was a little bit of bleeding inside the stomach resulting from a small cut below the liver (about 1cm long) and a lot of edema- which is the buildup of fluid in the lungs.
Dr. Onyaci, described Tibihika’s death as a slow process saying he could have been saved if he was rescued from the crashed vehicle.
The late Town Clerk was a member of the Lira Regional Referral Hospital’s board.
The wife of the late, Innocent Tibihika Atukunda who received the sad news while on a pilgrimage to Namugongo believes that her husband is in a better place.
Tibihika is survived by a widow, and four biological, and adopted children. He will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Ntungamo district.
