Miya will be available for Niger tourney – Desabre

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Uganda Cranes midfielder Farouk Miya will be available when the national team takes part in a three nations tournament in Niger May 30 to June 2.

Head coach Sebastien Desabre told URN in an interview at the Serena Hotel, Kampala on Tuesday night that they have been invited for the tournament which will give his players good playing time.

“It is good that many of the foreign based players are off season and I will have them for the two games in the tournament. Miya will also be part of the team,” added the coach. Miya who moved to Azerbaijan side, Sebail FC early this year missed the two international friendly games in March against Sao Tome and Principe and Malawi.

The coach said that it is only defender Denis Iguma who will not make the team since he is still settling in with his new Club in Saudi Arabia. Desabre said that his team will face the Central African Republic on May 30th before battling the hosts on June 2.

“Although the games will not be played during a FIFA international friendly window period, they will help me continue to assess the players as we plan for the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier,” said Desabre who will announce his full squad for the trip this morning.
