The Atlantic Lions brushed aside competition from 15 countries, including Uganda, to take the All Africa Golf Team Championship title Friday with a total of 44 under par, 8 strokes ahead of the silver medalists South Africa, who finished second, scoring 36 under par. The Kenyan team was third and took the bronze medal with 10 under par

Star of the tournament was South Africa’s Jonathan Bromhead, who took first place and the gold medal with a stunning 18 under par score. He carded 69, 70, 66 and 65 for a total 270 strokes.

Morocco grabbed second to fourth places – Mahdi Fakuri, with 16 under par, Adam Bresno, 13 under par, and Mohamed Nizar, 10 under par.
Uganda fielded a team of four US-based amateur players led by former Uganda Open champion Ronald Otile. The team struggled to adapt to the very hot dessert conditions, with Emmanuel Jakisa best placed in 22nd position. He carded a +9 score of 297 ( 78, 73, 73,73)
