KAMPALA, UGANDA | Xinhua | An official from Uganda has praised the facilities in northeast China’s coastal city of Dalian, the host of the International School Sports Federation (ISF) Football World Cup.
Justus Mugisha, President of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA), traveled to Dalian from January 22-26 to inspect the facilities since he is also the president of the ISF Technical Commission for Football.
The official told Xinhua that his visit to Dalian was very successful and he was very impressed.
“I am pleased to announce that the facilities in Dalian City are of a high standard and exceeded all expectations ahead of the event to take place May 17-27, 2024,” said Mugisha.
The tournament is expected to attract teams from all the continents and will have young talents showcasing their skills.
The Ugandan official also clarified that the USSSA is doing everything possible to field two teams for boys and girls at the ISF Football World Cup.
The ISF Football World Cup was developed and launched last year during the 50th anniversary of ISF WSC Football. During the launch, China obtained the hosting rights for the first three consecutive ISF Football World Cups: 2024, 2026, and 2028. ■
