Mbabazi’s sacking is the latest development in a saga that has been ongoing since The Independent broke the news of an ongoing feud between Museveni and Mbabazi (see: The battle for 2016, The Independent, Dec 5, 2013).

Museveni’s letter was forwarded to Rebecca Kadaga, the Speaker of Parliament for the mandatory parliamentary approval.

According to Ofwono Opondo, the government spokesperson, the new change has only affected the Prime Minister.
