Museveni advised the Kasese leader to instead work positively to create unity among the people at home as well as those living across the borders who have similar linkages and advise them to rout-out the ADF’s and the Interhamwe’s for everlasting peace to prevail in the area.
“Why do you want to isolate our people who are scattered everywhere? You should work positively to bring our people who include the Bamba, Banyoro called Batuku in Congo, Alur and Lugbaras by creating unity,” he counseled.

“I would appeal to you to hand in all those involved in these acts.
Don’t cover up anybody. These people will not learn to respect life. They will do it knowing that they will get political support. Here we should demand for a strict accountability surrounding the recent killings in Rwenzori region because wanainchi are vulnerable they cannot defend themselves,” he noted.

“We dealt with Lakwena who had 50,000 militias, most of them armed, and the Karimojong who had 40,000 riffles. These are our children who are being abused by selfish people. We shall get in touch with them and get them out of their hiding peacefully. Unfortunately some of them have already lost their lives in this circus due to false prophets,” he said.
Museveni emphasized that traditional and cultural leaders should not be dragged into partisan politics adding that anyone doing that was their enemy and the enemy of their institutions.
“Anyone who loves cultural leaders, would not drag them into politics. I think these politicians are not their friends and they just use them for their selfish interests. I can’t drag cultural leaders into politics because it’s against me, the cultural leaders and the constitution,” he said.
