Nakaseke , Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Police in Nakaseke are on the hunt for unknown assailants who are believed to have hired a special hire driver from Wakiso before murdering and dumping his body in Nakaseke. The victim, identified as Serwano Sonny Bamujje, 40, was a special hire driver residing in Ndejje-Lubugumu, Sabagabo, Wakiso District.
Bamujje was reported missing on May 14, 2024, and is suspected to have been murdered later that night. Preliminary investigations reveal that his body was discovered in Kizikibi wetland, Namakata village, Kito Sub-county, on the morning of May 15, 2024. The village chairperson reported the discovery to Kiwoko Police Station.
Savannah Regional Police spokesperson, Sam Twiineamazima, confirmed the incident to Uganda Radio Network (URN), noting that detectives responded promptly to the crime scene. Twiineamazima detailed that the victim was found with a rope around his neck, his hands bound behind his back, and his legs tied together, suggesting he was murdered elsewhere and his body later dumped in Namakata village.
Further investigations revealed that Bamujje had been reported missing at Nateete Police Station on May 14, 2024. His body has since been taken to Nakaseke Hospital for a postmortem examination. Investigations are ongoing as police seek to uncover the perpetrators of this brutal crime.
