Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | A planned shutdown of the power station at Ggaba on Friday will affect water supply to many parts of Kampala.
“The Management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation wishes to inform its valued customers and the general public that there will be interruptions in water supply on Friday 13th September, 2024 from 8am to 7pm. This is to due to a planned power shutdown by the UMEME team, in a bid to improve power supply at the Ggaba Power Station,” water authorities NWSC announced today.
Areas to be affected include Ggaba, Buziga, Kansanga, Munyonyo, Muyenga, Kampala CBD, Nansana, Matugga, Makerere, Kyengera, Nateete, Wankulukuku, Rubaga, Namirembe, Mengo, Kawempe, Bwaise, parts of Jinja road, Nakawa, Kyambogo, Namasuba, Najjanankumbi, Lubowa, Bombo road and the surrounding areas.
The works are designed to improve power reliability at the Station.
