Kampala, Uganda | GODFREY SSALI | Parents of a nursery and primary school in Munyonyo Kampala, (Mild Care parents’ school) have gone to court seeking restraining orders against the directors of the said school, from re-opening for third term due to corporal punishment that is subjected to their children.
The parents through an NGO – The Management committee of Children protection Initiative – that fights for children’s rights said the school is unfit to be entrusted with their infants because of the mental abuse it inflicts on their toddlers as young as 5 years.
They contend that the punishments coupled with poor sanitation and hygiene issues leave their children mentally and socially disturbed.
They now want the High Court in Kampala, to issue an injunction blocking the school directors from receiving pupils for third term until their case is heard and disposed of.
