The Cherubim Choir and Africhorus Baptist High School, Kitebi have emerged winners of the Catholic and Protestant categories, respectively, in this year’s National Martyrs’ choir finale held in Kampala on the eve of Martyr’s Day.
The two choirs each went home with a sh10million prize, in the competition organised by Vision Group in partnership with Equity Bank, The First Lady’s Office, Centenary Bank, Wandaz Products and Pepsi.
Chief Guest Justice Chibita was joined by Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr Kaziimba Mugalu Equity Bank ED Elizabeth Mwerinde to award the winners.
Six choirs made it to the finale out of 93 across the country that submitted entries for the competition. Each of the 6 got a prize, with the winner taking home sh10 million, runner-up sh5m and third sh3m.
