Plascon donates Shs30million paint to Rubaga Hospital

Rubaga, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Paint manufacturer, Kansai Plascon has donated paint worth Shs30million to Uganda Martyrs Hospital, Rubaga to support the hospital in its construction projects.

The paint was handed over to Catholic Church leaders and Rubaga Hospital officials on Sept.06 by Kansai Plascon Managing Director, Santosh Gumte.

Gumte said, “We are delighted to join the Catholic Church in their community projects especially those that have a direct impact on individuals living around them. Our paint donation to Rubaga Hospital is an appreciation to the Church for the work so far well done and our commitment to continue partnering with them to better our society.”

The paint maker will also provide all the needed labour including professional painters to assist the hospital in carrying out the painting job.

Rubaga Hospital, the oldest Catholic hospital in Uganda has been providing medical services to the Ugandan community since it was opened in 1899 by the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa.

The hospital also functions as the teaching facility for the Lubaga Health Training Institution, helping groom medical personnel who go on to serve the country in different hospitals.

Dr. Julius Luyimbazi, the Executive Director for Rubaga Hospital said, Plascon’s support will boost the implementation of a number of other projects that they will be unveiling soon.

The Kampala Archbishop Rt. Rev. Paul Ssemwogerere who also attended the event lauded Kansai Plascon for being a good friend of the Catholic Church and for all their efforts in supporting community projects.
