Plascon shines at 31st Uganda International Trade Fair, showcases innovation and industry leadership

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Plascon Uganda has once again demonstrated its leadership in innovation and industrial excellence with a strong showing at the 31st Uganda International Trade Fair (UGITF) 2025, organized by the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) under the theme “Sustainable Industrialization for Inclusive Growth, Employment and Wealth Creation.”

The annual trade fair, officially opened by the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Matia Kasaija, brought together manufacturers, investors, and innovators to showcase the country’s industrial potential and strengthen Uganda’s position in regional and global markets.

Kasaija commended manufacturers for their central role in transforming Uganda’s economy through industrialization and innovation.

“By embracing innovation, efficiency, and value addition, Uganda’s manufacturers can drive the country toward true self-reliance and global competitiveness. The Uganda International Trade Fair demonstrates that our manufacturing sector is not only growing but is ready to compete globally,” he noted.

Plascon Uganda, one of the Gold Sponsors of this year’s trade fair, was honored with an Appreciation Award from UMA for its continued contribution to Uganda’s industrial development. The company was represented by Brand Manager Daniel Kayongo and Marketing Coordinator Benjamin Bicung.

At the Plascon Pavilion, visitors are being treated to a vibrant display of the brand’s full range of decorative and protective paints  from interior and exterior emulsions to specialty undercoats, primers, texture finishes, and weatherproofing solutions. The showcase highlights Plascon’s dedication to innovation, quality, and sustainability in Uganda’s growing manufacturing sector.

During the event, Daniel Kayongo, Head of Marketing at Plascon Uganda, reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting Uganda’s industrial and economic transformation.

“As Plascon, we believe that colour is not just about aesthetics, it’s about progress. Our participation in the Uganda International Trade Fair reflects our commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability. We are proud to stand alongside other Ugandan manufacturers in building a more self-reliant and competitive economy,” said Kayongo.

Plascon is also engaging visitors through the 14th edition of its “Paint & Win” campaign, an interactive initiative that encourages customers to connect with the brand, purchase paint, and stand a chance to win prizes including cash, motorbikes, and tricycles.

UMA Board Chairperson Aga Sekalala Jr. applauded the level of innovation and collaboration showcased at this year’s event.

“This year’s edition of the trade fair is unlike any other. Our manufacturers are not just showcasing products; they are unveiling innovations, technologies, and partnerships that reflect Uganda’s readiness to lead in sustainable industrialization. The fair is truly a gateway for innovation, growth, and global competitiveness.”

The Uganda International Trade Fair remains a premier platform for manufacturers to showcase their innovations, expand their networks, and access regional and global markets. The 2025 edition has attracted participation from major players including Total Energies, Bank of Uganda, NIRA Uganda, MMI Steel, MTN Uganda, Crestanks, Hisense, Unisteel, and several ministries and government agencies.

Through its continued participation, Plascon Uganda reaffirms its role as a key partner in the country’s drive toward sustainable industrialization, inclusive growth, and economic transformation.
