Rwampara, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The elections of the interim LCV Chairperson for Rwampara has flopped again. The elections which were supposed to be held last week on Wednesday flopped after only four out of the seven councillors turned up.
The election flopped again on Monday after the same councillors still failed to turn up. They are Jordan Musinguzi of Mwizi, Kakyara Justine woman Bugamba and Kansiime Annah Rugando did not turn up.
The race for the interim LCV Chairperson is between Robert Arinanye of Bugamba Sub County and Jordan Musinguzi of Mwizi Sub County.
Rwampara District Registrar Nicholas Twinomujuni says that he will first consult his bosses in Kampala before a decision is made.
Those who turned up include Robert Arinanye of Bugamba, Asaph Muhangi of Ndeija, Alice Nakuya and Patience Tumwesigye of Mwizi Sub County.
Arinanye says that the standoff will hurt service delivery in the district yet people were eager to receive their own leadership.
Rwampara County Member of Parliament Charles Ngabirano described the incident as unfortunate and called on the two worrying groups to ensure that they do not cause a stalemate and cripple service delivery in the area. Rwampara district was on the 1st of July 2019 curved out of Mbarara District.
