Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Mohamed Salah’s double helped Liverpool to an emphatic 4-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park.

The visitors almost struck twice in the opening two minutes, Joel Matip heading wide and Salah shooting over from close range.

Their pressure eventually told, Jordan Henderson curling the ball into the bottom corner to open the scoring after nine minutes before Salah beat the advancing Jordan Pickford to make it 2-0 on 19 minutes.

Demarai Gray then slotted the ball beneath Alisson to halve the deficit before the break.
