Sironko, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Six police officers attached to Sironko central police station have been arrested for allegedly robbing a resident of 10 million shillings and over 100 cartons of wheat flour.
The suspects, Gerald Sabiiti No.51086, Anthony Wanjala, No.64627, Jamada Wangiri No.68822, Kamada Katende No.69001, Fauhara Namwoyo No.55238, and Wycliff Chepkwech, all attached to Sironko CPS on the 19th of November this year robbed Ronald Sikoria, a resident of Chepryayi village, Kwanyi sub-county in Kween district while on his way home.
It is alleged that the suspects put Sikoria at gunpoint, something that made him abandon his goods and 10 million shillings after they searched and got it from his pocket.
The suspects who were arrested on Friday are currently held at Sironko central police station.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson confirmed the arrest but said investigations are still ongoing before the suspects can be arraigned in courts of law to answer charges of aggravated robbery.
