Lowly Standard sack Serbian coach who ignored Uganda’s Miya
Brussels, Belgium | AFP | Standard Liege have sacked their Serbian coach Aleksandar Jankovic after the iconic Belgian top-flight outfit could only finish ninth in the regular season.
“Negative results led the two parties to accept the consequences,” a club statement said on Monday.
Jankovic, a former Red Star Belgrade coach, took over the ten-time Belgian champions in September 2016.
The arrival last year of the Serbian coach ended new signing Farouk Miya’s first team appearances at Liege, with the Ugandan international eventually loaned out to lower league table side Belgian club Royal Excel Mouscron.

A former assistant and youth coach at the club Jose Jeunechamps will oversee the end of the play-offs, in which Standard have also struggled.
The club said a new coach would be hired before the start of next season.
Now it high time you give again Miya Achance to play in first team
