Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The Directorate of Crime Intelligence (DCI) has confirmed the arrest of the suspected murderer of Ndiga clan leader Eng Daniel Bbosa.
Lujja Tabula, who has been hiding since February 25, 2024 when Bbosa was shot to death at Lungujja, Rubaga Division, in Kampala was arrested on Monday in his hideout in Busukuma.
Police Spokesperson, Kituuma Rusoke, via an X post confirmed Tabula’s arrest.
“We confirm the arrest of Lujja Bbosa Tabula, the main suspect in the murder of former Ndiga clan leader Engineer Daniel Bbosa. He was apprehended on 19 August 2024, in Kimelika-Namulonge, Busikuma, by our crime intelligence squad,” Rusoke said.
Tabula was named by one of the shooters Noah Lujja that he hired them to kill Eng Bbosa over clan leadership wrangles. Tabula had been fighting to dethrone Eng Bbosa whom he accused of illegally serving as Ndiga clan leader.
Tabula once dragged Eng Bbosa to Buganda Kingdom court commonly known as Kooti Ya Kisekwa where he emerged victorious. However, Eng Bbosa appealed against Kooti Ya Kisekwa ruling to the Kabaka as the supreme judge on such matters. Unfortunately, the Kabaka became ill and Eng Bbosa was killed before his Majesty’s verdict.
So far, five suspects have been charged in courts of law include Naluwendwa the clerk to Kooti Ya Kisekwa.
A few weeks ago, 17 human skulls were found at one of his shrines in Mpigi district.
“Tabula is also wanted in connection with the discovery of human skulls at his residence in Mpigi,” Rusoke added.
Police had put a 20 million shillings bounty on Tabula’s head. Information first indicated that he had crossed into Tanzania.
Uganda reportedly notified Tanzania authorities and this could perhaps be the reason why Tabula sneaked back into Uganda if at all he had crossed into the neighbouring country.
