THIS WEEK: Parliament probes Kadaga, Namuganza feud
Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Deputy speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah on Mar.15 ordered the Committee on Rules, Privileges and Discipline to investigate the cause of fights between Speaker Rebecca Kadaga and Minister Persis Namuganza.
Oulanyah said the committee has to find solutions for the feud that could injure the image of the house.
Namuganza who first came under the spot light when she publicly quarreled with ICT state Minister Aidah Nantaba was weeks ago kicked out of the Busoga Parliamentary caucus for insulting and alleging that speaker Rebecca Kadaga wanted to murder her.
Her behavior was found to be unbecoming by the 13 members of the caucus who called for criminal proceedings against the MP. But, this didn’t stop her from speaking about the feud especially among his constituents in Bukono.
The fight is said to be have been intensified when the minister called on her supporters to lynch the Kyabazinga Gabula Nadiope and the speaker at a social function held in her Bukono constituency.
Apart from that, the Minister is also said to have taken to social media to attack the people of Kamuli – Kadaga constituents that they are unhygienic.
