Tired of reporting to court, Besigye calls for new laws

Former FDC Presidential candidate  Dr. Kiiza Besigye has expressed fear that he will spend the rest of his entire life reporting in courts if a time limit is  not put on how long an accused must attend court without trial .

Besigye who is battling treason charges, called law makers to look into the law regarding capital offences and find a solution to what he has termed  as  a violation of capital offenders rights  by continuous reporting to court without trial. He said this at the High Court – criminal division Friday  morning after he had reported before the deputy Registrar Mary Khainza in fulfillment of his bail condition.

He will now report back before to court on January 16 2017 following a revision of his bail terms by the registrar Mary Khainza in November 2016.
