The Independent Uganda: You get the Truth we Pay the Price
Entebbe, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Police are hunting for two men sighted and reported Friday morning for attempting to kidnap a woman at Abayita Ababiri on Kampala- Entebbe road. (see map bottom)
Police say the two men, believed to be kidnappers, jumped out of a numberless and tinted-glass black Ipsum. The victim, who was not named, reported to Police hours later.
In a statement, Kampala Police spokesman AIGP Asan Kasingye urged the public to help with information.
Up to 23 women have been killed in areas around Entebbe in the past four months. Police have made a number of arrests of suspects, but the murders that Internal Affairs Minister Gen Jeje Odongo linked to witchcraft and illuminati, continue.
Information indicates the lady reported the matter late, but police insisited “the lady did not report immediately. However what’s important is that citizens be on the look out and help us apprehend them.”
THE POLICE STATEMENT:
“We have received credible information that this morning at around 6.30 at the former Kobil filling station, at Abaita-babir town, in Katabi Town Council, two men, one dressed in black attire and another putting on a red shirt and black jacked, and travelling a black numberless Ipsum vehicle, with tinted glasses, attempted to kidnap a your lady, 23 year, into their vehicle that already had another lady whose face was tied with a piece of cloth and putting on a shot black skirt.”
These people are on the loose and are a danger to the lady in the vehicle and the public following the kidnaps and killings, going on in Katabi Town Council and Nansana municipality.”
The police have started a manhunt for this vehicle and its occupants.
