THIS WEEK: Magogo sails through as Kasule’s injunction appeal is dismissed
Incumbent Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) President Moses Magogo sailed through unopposed to lead the body for another four years after court on Aug.04 threw out Pro-line Football club chairman Mujib Kasule’s application for a certificate of urgency.
“We cannot guarantee you a certificate of urgency because we see no matter of urgency in your case. Also, you were well aware of the full electoral road map from October 2016. Why wait until 2 days to
the assembly and raise your complaints?” said High court Judge Lady Justice Margret Ouma who dismissed the application with costs.
Kasule who had earlier expressed intrest in the position but was thrown out on basis of lack of
requirements through his lawyers Kenneth Nsubuga Ssebagayunga and Babu Ssali of Nsubuga K.S and Company Advocates had sought for a temporary injunction to the 93rd FUFA General Assembly where the election of the FUFA President was key on the agenda.
Held in Masindi district, over 80 delegates attended the assembly, a day after the court decision. At the same event, State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs Nakiwala Kiyingi was voted FUFA vice president.
